The Fremont Players and the Fremont Philharmonic Orchestra presents Jack and the Beanstalk in the form of a traditional British Pantomime. The Show is held at Hale’s Ales Palladium in Fremont. The songs and script were written as a collaborative effort by various actors and members of the orchestra.
Follow the story of Jack and his mom the local farming community, an evil ogress, and a scary giant. Will Jack have to sell Daisy the cow? Can the neighbor’s goose lay a golden egg? Will there be a beanstalk that grows into the clouds? Can friend conquer evil? Find out in this classic British Panto.
British Pantos, also known as British Pantomimes, developed in England and spread throughout the UK and Ireland. Pantos are a winter holiday tradition in Britain, and Freemont Players are bringing that tradition to Seattle! Pantos are all about audience participation, so don’t go in expecting to sit in your seat quietly. There will be yelling, singing, and standing—all things that make a quality panto.
The story is fun for the whole family. It adapted the traditional story of Jack and the Beanstalk and added commentary on capitalism and various other things, along with some bawdy humor, that is sure to get a chuckle from the parents and older siblings. For the kids, there’s fun interaction, cute songs, ghosts, and Lucy Goose that only says jokes
Fremont Players really encapsulate what a panto should be and it’s not something you want to miss out on! Tickets range from $8-$16 and they encourage you to buy tickets in advance since shows sell out quickly.
