Proofs-Impromptu Playwrighting and Readings by Parley

On March 24th, Parley Theatre, a collective of playwrights, launched Proofs, a live-streamed YouTube series in keeping with Parley’s goal of bringing affordable new theatre that’s relevant, experimental and thrillingly process-oriented to audiences. Seven playwrights were given the prompt: Write a scene in which an unresolved conflict is unearthed and rehashed in the present. The playwrights had one week to submit their work. Days later, a few of Parley’s favorite actors read the scenes “cold” during a live-streamed YouTube broadcast.
