An exciting new script from local playwright and director Max Koh.
Hildy is trying to beat the shut-the-box game. Everyone keeps telling them that it’s a dumb pub game designed to keep drunk people occupied. Evelyn is trying to stay calm. Her mom keeps calling and she’s afraid if she picks it up since it will only end in disaster. So, she’s busying herself with thoughts of mushrooms, corvids, and Hildy’s entertaining determination to beat that stupid game.
Unfortunately, the World Government has decided to eradicate humanity at 8pm tonight. Hildy has about 90 minutes to win. The phone rings again.
This reading represents a continuation of Dacha’s commitment to support new works. If you enjoyed getting in on the ground floor of Girls School Memory Play by Donovan Olsen this fall, or are hungry for another take on the end of the world after this winter’s An Incomplete List of All the Things I’m Going to Miss When the World is No Longer: by Dante Green, you won’t want to miss this staged reading of Max Koh’s new play!
