Looking for a free summer activity? One you don’t need reservations for or anything? Then you are in luck, as the Seattle Opera is putting on a free show with the beautiful Space Needle as the backdrop.
On August 26th around 8:45pm—show up early if you want to snag a seat— at the Mural Amphitheater lawn at the Seattle Center watch Tosca unfold on the Silver Screen. The classic Giacomo Puccini tale of a spicy prima donna fighting for love in 1800s Rome is a 2021 film that was shot at the St. James Cathedral right here in Seattle. Alexandra Lobianco plays the title character of Floria Tosca and Michael Chioldi her lover, Baron Scapia. The musical conductor is Kazem Abdullah and the director is Dan Wallace Miller.
The show is Italian with English subtitles, PG-13, and about 2 hours. Service pets are welcomed, but due to the limited space other pets are not. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and a friend and show support to the local opera scene. For more information: https://www.seattleopera.org/toscanight
