O Joy, O Rapture Unexpected !
For two nights only, Monday and Tuesday, January 13th and 14th, a two person show, Revive will be presented at 18th and Union, Arts Space in the Central District. It promises to be an uplifting experience during this bleak depressing Seattle winter.
Revive seeks to resuscitate the image of Blackness in America. Multi-hyphenate artists Porscha Shaw and Jay O’Leary explore the birth of joy through song, dance and spoken word. In a world where the dominant culture yearns for the silencing of Black and brown communities, Revive disrupts the poisonous notion that we are a damaged people.
Although I do not know anything about this show, I do know that 18th and Union picks winners 99% of the time. There is ample street parking, a friendly atmosphere, an excellent bar and great art in the lobby.
Revive. 18th and Union, 1806-18 Ave S. (Corner of 18th and Union) Central District. Seattle. 98122. Two performances only Mon & Tues Jan. 13 & 14.
