The Seattle Theater Scene is a Nest of Vipers; unlike Tukwila
Is only one of the many funny lines in ACT’s Central Heating Lab’s Holiday Show, HAM FOR THE HOLIDAYS, by one of Seattle’s best comedy teams, Dos Fallopia-Peggy Platt and Lisa Koch.
Comprising seven sketch comedy acts, ranging from, “Schmeck Attack”, when two Hassidic Jews are booked, at the last minute, for a gentile Christmas office party, to Crassword, a spoof on quiz shows complete with audience participation, to the Slam Poet ( aka The Pretentious Poet)
Musically, there was also the Sequim Gay Men’s Chorus and the Seatles-a band composed of Seattle’s glitterati (Guess which ones?) as well as the beloved Spudds, their spoof of the mother daughter duo the Judd’s.
Directed by David Hunter Koch, with D.J. Gommels and Michael Oaks as actors, the show is interspersed with a slide show to comment on the action. Unlike most Holiday shows which seem drowned in high fructose corn syrup, this show is irreverent, outrageous and extremely gender bending.
