Get the kids away from the video games on a Saturday morning
Washington Ensemble Theatre, has gone into the business of Children’s Theatre on Saturday and Sundays. Their current children’s show, Number 2 Québeçois Robot Detective Agency opened on Sat. January 26th at 11 am.
Roughly, the show is about two robot detectives inMontreal, Québec, who go on a “case”. Although the plot was a little weak and hard to follow, the show had everything you need for great children’s theatre: two engaging actors, especially Ali El-Gasseir, who in looks and ability is very like Charlie Chaplin, and Jonah von Spreecken, who played the second lead. There was a lot of music which would appeal to children, zany antics, adorable outrageous costumes, including Mr. El-Gasseir in drag, wonderful sound effects and a helpful hint for children about how to deal with change in their lives. Also the two had great rapport with the audience and knew how to talk to kids.
The tickets are low-cost, it is a good location with enough parking and watching it is better for kids than sitting playing video games on a rainySeattleSaturday.
